This is the latest technology and fast becoming the preferred refractive procedure for people with poor reading and distance vision. This involves implantation of a multi-focal lens implant, into the eye, which can eliminate people's dependence on glasses (bi-focals, tri-focals and/or progressive lenses).
Furthermore, with the Restore Vision Procedure™ you will not get cataracts as you age, as your natural lens has been removed.
What your surgeon will do
The procedure, very similar to cataract surgery, is performed on an out patient basis. The natural lens in your eye is removed with ultrasound and aspiration, and replaced with a bifocal intraocular lens, which will remain with you for your lifetime.

What is my recovery time? |
Once you arrive home, rest and sleep as much as possible for the first 24 hours. You can return to work the following week. Please keep in mind, there is an adjustment period with the Restore Vision Procedure™ and it can take up to six months, or even longer, for some people to achieve their ultimate visual expectation. Some patients (3-7%) may need laser refractive surgery, following the lens implant procedure, to correct any residual prescription. This can be performed 3-4 months following the initial procedure and is provided free of charge for the first year. |
